The History of LRA Insurance
LRA Insurance was founded in 1987 by James R. Lumbra Sr., and his wife Susan. As of May, 2007 the agency is operating under a partnership of five owners including the original two founders (Jim and Sue Lumbra), as well as James Lumbra Jr., Cheryl Noble, and Cynthia Moench.
The Florida based agency currently has two locations, the main one in Orlando and the second on Merritt Island in Brevard County. There are approximately 40 employees at LRA, 33 in the Orlando branch and 7 in Brevard. LRA is also involved in a merger/acquisition of an agency in Dade City with an additional 3 employees.
LRA is a true multi-lines general agency providing coverage and services for Commercial accounts, Personal Lines, Life, Health and Benefits.
The sales team is composed of a wide array of Producers with a variety of sales experience, and specializing in different niches throughout the insurance industry. There are currently specialists in the landscape, large contractors, and agriculture fields and the team is continuing to add more. LRA has also developed a relationship with a payroll company providing the pay-as-you-go Workers Compensation to their clients, which in turn, opens the door for many other cross-selling opportunities.
LRA Insurance prides itself on exceptional service and has compiled an incomparable service team to handle the business once it is sold. Uncommon in the world of insurance, the LRA service staff works in teams, rather than the traditional one account manager to every Producer. LRA feels that this is a way to maximize each of the employees’ strengths and helps foster a team oriented, goal driven culture.
LRA is strategically aligned and prepared to grow as growth is both what keeps the agency in good standing with its carriers, and what is necessary to be a profitable agency in the insurance industry.
